Today I’m stuck. On articles. News. Possibly unnecessarily so, but I can’t help but react. There’s the ongoing trial involving Anders Behring Breivik where they’re currently discussing where he’s going to end up which will be determined by the nature of the verdict. And the frustration level increases when you see pictures of the so called jail cells that we have here in Sweden and in Norway and possibly in many other places that I’m not aware of. He gets three rooms? That is so fucked up. He doesn’t deserve anything more than those typical American jail cells that you picture in your head (or see in movies or TV shows) where there’s just the tiny little metal bed with a paper thin mattress, four walls and a worn down toilet seat. Or possibly one of those solitary confinement cells. That’s what he deserves. Just barely.
And then there’s this never ending bickering about fight dogs or killer dogs where the atmosphere got so bad that people yelled at the police to shoot the owner of the dog. To be fair, I’m not entirely sure if the journalist consciously decided to use the term fight dog/killer dog, possibly erroneously, or if it’s just a quote from one of the people involved. Either way, this newspaper has a responsibility to not promote this fucking expression that is used more often than not in any case where the dog involved is not a chihuahua, labrador, golden retreiver or dachshund or something. I’m so sick of this expression, this word getting tossed around and even more sick of people who seem to think that fight dog/killer dog is actually a breed of dog. So frustrating.
