Banking progress and outdoor movies

After 3-4 attempts to open a joint bank account with Chase and failing miserably, we decided to try with Bank of America and guess what: they actually accepted my ID’s and paperwork! Unbelievable, right? We spent over an hour in a tiny, super-bright office with  Alex (formerly known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Raphael) and with a little assistance from his supervisor Marcelo (who was also going through the immigration process and most likely due to that was very understanding) we managed to open a joint checking and savings account and get me a card. Wohooooo! Next up: DMV on Thursday, hopefully they’ll be willing to work with me on the whole driver’s license thing.

Saturday night was spent in a park in LA, on a very damp blanket in the dark, watching The Bride of Frankenstein. It was really really nice, aside from the wet and cold weather. We ended up leaving early because I was freezing my butt off and K was very exhausted. All in all, a lovely experience. It even inspired us to do a fright weekend next weekend, watch old weird scary movies and possibly do some DIY stuff. I’m very excited!
